Life with a newborn is a whirlwind of tiny moments. Sleepy snuggles, late night feeds, endless nappy changes — somehow exhausting and beautiful all at once.
In those early weeks, you start to notice the little things. The way they curl into your chest. The soft stretches after a long sleep. The quiet moments when the whole house finally feels still.
These days pass so quickly, but they’re the ones you’ll want to remember most.
Selfies don’t quite capture the full picture, and leaving the house probably isn’t high on your priority list right now. That’s where I come in.
I’ll come to you and capture this new chapter just as it is — the love, the connection and the beautiful chaos of life with your new baby.

Maternity and newborn sessions are all about capturing the real, everyday beauty of this season of life.
For maternity sessions, we’ll focus on the connection and anticipation as you await your little one. Whether it’s just you, with your partner or the whole family, we’ll create relaxed images that celebrate this chapter before everything changes.
Once your baby arrives, the newborn session can continues that story. We follow your baby’s pace and capture the natural rhythm of your day — feeding, cuddling, rocking, and those quiet in-between moments.
Everything happens in the comfort of your home using natural light. No rushing, no pressure. Just your family settling into this new little world together.

"I chose Megan to photograph our new little family of three and I couldn’t be happier with the experience and results. Megan included everything I wanted and made it relaxed and enjoyable! My little 2 week old bubba appreciated Megan being so flexible when we had to stop to feed, change and wee all over me!
I highly recommend Megan To capture your natural pictures and to include your wishes for the session as well. I’ll definitely be back for some more photos when she is older."
Maternity and newborn sessions are relaxed and usually last around 1–1.5 hours. For newborn sessions may take a little longer as we follow your baby’s lead, allowing time for feeds, cuddles and settling whenever needed.
Sessions are $750 and include 15 images of your choice from your gallery.
Once your gallery is ready, you’ll also have the option to purchase more images if you wish.
Within about three weeks you’ll receive your gallery to view and choose your favourite images.
From there you can download your photos, share them with family and order beautiful prints straight from your gallery.
Next, I’ll send through your session guide so you know exactly what to expect. We’ll also have a quick chat in the week or two leading up to your photoshoot to check in and answer any questions you may have.
On the day we simply take things at your baby’s pace. There’s plenty of time for feeding, cuddles and settling while I capture the quiet moments unfolding around you.
No pressure. No rushing.
Reach out and we'll find a date that works around your due date. Once booked, your session is locked in with a $250 deposit.
When I’m not photographing other people’s adorable babies, you’ll find me playing dinosaurs with my kids, cleaning up snacks or stopping my youngest from digging the dirt out of the pot plants.
As a mum of three, I get the mix of exhaustion and overwhelming love that comes with these early days. My goal is to capture your story, whether it’s your first baby or your fourth, so you’re in the photos with the ones you love most.
MORE ABOUT MEGAN
I’m usually booked out a few months in advance so I suggest booking as early as you can, using your due date as a guide.
But as we all know, things don’t always go to plan. Babies can arrive super early or a bit later, and maybe you need some time to recover and rest yourself. And that’s okay.
We lock in a date early so it’s not an afterthought but if your baby arrives earlier than planned, get in touch. If not, I’ll contact you closer to your due date to check in and we can make changes if necessary.
As for maternity sessions, any time from between 34-37 weeks works well. It's late enough that you have a nice, round belly and early enough that you're not too uncomfortable.
I’m now based in Romsey, in the beautiful Macedon Ranges, and photograph families right across the region — from Gisborne, Lancefield and Woodend to Kyneton, Sunbury and beyond. I also return to Melbourne regularly, particularly for sessions in the north including Doreen, Mernda, Donnybrook, Kalkallo, Eltham, Mernda and Hurstbridge.
Travel is included for sessions within the Macedon Ranges. A small travel fee may apply for locations more than an hour from 3434.
To get that fresh, squishy newborn stage, I suggest having your photoshoot within the first two weeks of their life. But honestly, there’s no bad time. Babies are beautiful at any age and so book when it works for you.
Just as a guide, you tend to get smiles around the 2-3 month mark, at 6-7 months they will more than likely be sitting (with or without help) and from around 9 months, they’re often on the move, crawling about and opening all of your drawers.
No, I don’t have a studio. All newborn sessions happen in the comfort of your own home. I find this is where your baby is most comfortable and they don’t need to fight with outdoor elements like bright light, wind and the changes in temperature. Instead, I use the natural light of your home to capture some authentic, heartfelt images. It’s just a bonus that you don’t have to go anywhere and everything you need is nearby.
Babies tend to choose the pace of their session. Some want to be cuddled and held the whole time, some are cluster feeding and others are happy to be passed around. No two sessions are the same. It's for this reason I suggest anywhere from 1 to 2 hours for your newborn session.
I don’t bring any props to sessions. I believe it’s a lot more meaningful to use items that you own, that reflect your style and that may become treasured items to your little one. So pull out the quilt that nanna made, the beloved teddy bear from your childhood and the knitted blanket in the colour you love. It’s these little things that will add an extra spark to your photographs.
I love photographing mummas and their beautiful bumps. I encourage you to have the your maternity photos done around the 34-37 week mark of your pregnancy, while you’re still feeling pretty good but not so uncomfortable that you’d rather kick your feet up than capture that beautiful bump of yours.
I want you to be comfortable and dress as you usually would so there isn’t a lot that I would say to avoid. However, I understand that making these choices can be overwhelming, particularly if you’re after a look that’s a little more balanced that the usual chuck-on-what-you-can-find outfit. So when you book with me, you’ll receive a session guide that has a whole section on what to wear, eliminating the decision paralysis.
I certainly do! There's nothing quite like holding a photograph in your hands or seeing your kids look at themselves proudly framed on your wall. They create a visual legacy that won't get lost on your phone or computer. I use the best photographic labs around to provide you with long lasting prints and beautiful keepsakes which you have the option of purchasing through your gallery.
Whichever way you choose to print, all I ask is for you to choose a high quality lab. It makes all the difference.
Unlike many photographers, I don’t wait for your baby to sleep before photographing them. I want your photoshoot to be as realistic to what life is like at this particular time. So if your baby is awake, let them be awake. If they need to feed or just want to be cuddled, go for it!
Newborn sessions need anywhere between 1 and 2 hours, allowing plenty of time to pause and tend to your baby’s every need… which I will also happily photograph.
Let's not miss another single second of your beautiful life.
that's what I want!
