We often wait for the 'perfect time'. When the kids are older, when the house feels tidier, when life slows down a little.
But family life doesn’t really work like that.
It’s busy and messy and sometimes a little chaotic. And honestly, that’s part of the beauty of it.
Those everyday moments — the cuddles on the couch, the laughter, the way your kids wrap their arms around you — are the ones worth remembering.
The only photos we regret are the ones we never take.
So step into the frame. Your kids will be so glad you did.
My sessions are relaxed and easy. Your kids don’t need to sit still or behave perfectly, and your home doesn’t need to look like it belongs in a magazine.
You simply spend time together while I quietly capture what unfolds — the laughter, the cuddles, the little bits of chaos that come with family life.
These are the photos that grow in meaning over time. The ones that remind you not just what life looked like, but what it felt like.

This relaxed session gives us the time and space to slow down and let things unfold naturally. I’ll guide you when needed, but mostly it’s about you spending time together while I capture what happens along the way.
At home that might look like a lazy morning in pyjamas, watering the veggie patch or piling onto the couch for a cuddle.
Outdoors it could be an ice cream stop in town, a wander through the bush or an afternoon exploring somewhere your family loves.
The laughter, the quiet cuddles, the beautifully chaotic bits of family life — photos that feel like you, just as you are right now.
Once your gallery is ready, you’ll have the option to add more.

Extended family sessions are absolutely possible and are a wonderful way to capture multiple generations together. Because they involve photographing several family groups, an additional $100 per extra family unit applies.
A few times throughout the year I offer limited mini sessions. These are short and sweet sessions designed around special occasions like Mother’s Day, Father’s Day or seasonal events. They’re a lovely way to capture a quick snapshot of your family, but they’re only offered occasionally and spots usually fill quickly. If you’d like to be the first to hear when they’re released, make sure you're on my mailing list.
Around three weeks after your session, you’ll receive your online gallery where you can choose your favourite images.
From there you can download your photos, order prints, or upgrade your gallery if you fall in love with more.
Before the day, I’ll send through your session guide so you know exactly what to expect. We’ll also have a quick chat in the week leading up to your photoshoot so I can get to know your family and answer any questions you may have.
On the day, all you need to do is show up and spend time together. Run around, have a laugh, cuddle your kids and enjoy being a family. I’ll be there capturing it all as it naturally unfolds.
Reach out, tell me a little about your family and what you're hoping for. We’ll find a date and location that works, and once your $250 deposit is paid your session is officially locked in.
Home is where your family is most you. These sessions capture the everyday moments that tell your real story - whether it’s the kids jumping on the bed, quiet snuggles on the couch or the little routines that become second nature. No need to worry about perfect outfits or spotless rooms. These images will feel like home, honest and relaxed, focusing on the moments that matter most.
Outdoor sessions are all about enjoying quality time together. Whether it’s at the park, the beach or your local ice-cream store, you'll have the opportunity to explore, play, chat and maybe get a little messy. These photos will capture the love and connection your family shares, showing those genuine moments that happen when you’re just being yourselves.
Newborn sessions are about capturing those early days with your baby as they really are. There’s no rush or pressure, just your family settling into life together. I’ll document the small details and quiet moments that pass so quickly—the way they fit in your arms, the softness of their skin, and how everything feels new. These photos will let you hold on to those first moments, preserving them for the future.
A maternity session is about capturing the connection between you and your baby. You’ll feel at ease as we focus on the beauty of your growing bump, the anticipation of this new chapter, and the changes happening as you prepare to welcome your little one. Your photos will reflect the love, warmth, and joy of this moment in your journey. When you look back, you’ll remember how special this time was, filled with hope and the excitement of new life.

Brooke
Hey, I'm Megan, a documentary and lifestyle family photographer based in Romsey, VIC, though I travel all over the Macedon Ranges, Melbourne and beyond. When I’m not photographing families, I’m hanging out with my husband and our three kids, soaking up all the goodness that life throws our way.
I love capturing the real, unposed moments that make your family’s story what it is - the kind of interactions that usually happen when no one’s paying attention.
Whether we’re at your place or somewhere outdoors you love, my focus is on photographing the connections and details that really matter to you. I approach every session with that in mind, so you’ll have images reflect your life and will mean something for years to come.
There’s something special about holding a memory in your hands. In a world where everything lives on our phones, printed photos bring those moments to life in a completely different way. Whether it’s flipping through an album or seeing your family on the wall each day, these images become part of your everyday story.
While you’ll receive your digital images to keep forever, you’ll also have access to a curated print store through your gallery. This allows you to order high-quality prints, framed artwork and keepsakes that are professionally produced and colour matched to your images.
It means the photos you love most will look exactly as they were intended — and will last for many years to come.
In general, I can book out a few months in advance but extra sessions will pop up now and again. But always get in touch cause I might just be able to squeeze another session in.
For newborn sessions, the sooner the better. I understand how easy it is to leave this task until the last minute or think you don’t need a session, only to regret it down the track. Believe me, I know! I did it myself! It’s because of this, I’ll always try to fit you in… even if bub has already arrived.
For newborns, it’s a no brainer - we do it at your home. It’s a lot more comfortable for bub with a controlled temp, no wind and a comfy place to sleep.
For family sessions, it's up to you! I personally have a soft spot for in home sessions as it captures your life and the home emphasises your unqiue style. Outdoor sessions are a lot of fun too, particularly when you go somewhere familiar or a great place to explore as a family. We can always talk through the options and choose the best fit for you.
We can make anything during daylight hours work for an outdoor session. But if you're wanting the most beautiful, flattering light, you can't go past Golden Hour. It’s just after sunrise or just before sunset. The light is just so magical… all soft and glowy.
In-home session (including newborn sessions), the bonus is that it can be any time of day, regardless of the weather. Personally, I love mid morning. This is when the light is best in most homes and when big brothers and sisters are usually their happiest.
Absolutely! It makes me sad to think we don’t consider documenting our kids with a photographer beyond the early years. So 1000x yes! Teenagers, adulthood, even when you get that pensioner card!
Absolutely! I'd love to photograph all excitement of your family holiday. Beach, forest, camping, hotel, BIG 4... I'm there for it all! Let me know what you have in mind and we can plan something that fits perfectly with your holiday vibe!
I certainly do! There's nothing quite like holding a photograph in your hands or seeing your kids look at themselves proudly framed on your wall. They create a visual legacy that won't get lost on your phone or computer. I use the best photographic labs around to provide you with long lasting prints and beautiful keepsakes which you have the option of purchasing through your gallery.
Whichever way you choose to print, all I ask is for you to choose a high quality lab. It makes all the difference.
To get that fresh, squishy newborn stage, I suggest having your photoshoot within the first two weeks of their life. But honestly, there’s no bad time. Babies are beautiful at any age and so book when it works for you.
Just as a guide, you tend to get smiles around the 2-3 month mark, at 6-7 months they will more than likely be sitting (with or without help) and from around 9 months, they’re often on the move, crawling about and opening all of your drawers.
No, I don’t have a studio. All newborn sessions happen in the comfort of your own home. I find this is where your baby is most comfortable and they don’t need to fight with outdoor elements like bright light, wind and the changes in temperature. Instead, I use the natural light of your home to capture some authentic, heartfelt images. It’s just a bonus that you don’t have to go anywhere and everything you need is nearby.
I don’t bring any props to sessions. I believe it’s a lot more meaningful to use items that you own, that reflect your style and that may become treasured items to your little one. So pull out the quilt that nanna made, the beloved teddy bear from your childhood and the knitted blanket in the colour you love. It’s these little things that will add an extra spark to your photographs.
